Reed is a typical plant that causes problems for local lakes in Finland. Water restoration can produce good material, for example, for craft use. This trip is an excellent example of a small-scale circular economy. In this excursion You will get familiarized with the reed and its possibilities as a craft material. You will get to make your own reed necklace or decorative cone. You will also enjoy a short walk in the old forest and snacks by the campfire. The trail is very easygoing and suitable for inexperienced hikers. Suomen Latu Route Classification has been used in the route classification.
Our instructors with you during the activity are Johanna Riepula and Rita Porkka.
They both are environmental educators and also experts in their field. Johanna has Bachelor’s degree in special techinques (applied crafts) and Artesan’s degree in metalwork. She is also a nature guide.
Rita has degrees in Bachelor of Natural Resources and Master of Natural Resourses (Sustainable Environmental Specialist). She also has diploma in Hatha Yoga Teacher.
